Alshatibi Academy of Islamic Studies is a non-profit academic and intellectual institution concerned with Islamic studies and educational awareness issues, following a gradual, scientific methodology aimed at elevating the awareness of Muslims in Western society.

The Institute works to accomplish a number of intellectual and educational projects and organises scholarly meetings and courses, overseen by a body of competent and specialized individuals who seek to create a suitable environment for students to develop their true potential.

The academy is located at Didsbury Mosque in Manchester.

Academy Policy

• Renouncing bigotry based on racial or sectarian considerations, and pursuing truth with impartiality according to the principles of Islamic Sharia.
• Adhering to the constants of Islam, while considering circumstances and conditions through the lens of Maqasid (Higher Objectives), both in foundational principles and practical application.

Mission:

To qualify an elite group in Islamic sciences, providing them with the opportunity for active participation in serving the community.

Objectives of the Institute:

• To connect Islamic legal sciences with the reality of a Muslim’s life in the West by spreading awareness and religious culture among European Muslims.
• To elevate the Islamic legal knowledge of Muslims in Britain.
• To equip the Institute’s students with the necessary tools of awareness to comprehend Sharia matters.
• To sensitize the Muslim community about its social and awareness-raising role in its environment, aiming to demonstrate the perfection and beauty of Islam, its immunity from intellectual doubts, while strengthening a sense of belonging.
• To enhance the behavioral, spiritual, and ethical aspects indispensable to a student of Islamic law.
